Michel Tuffery New project in Samoa


Michel Tuffery's Siamani Samoa project opened in Samoa on the 17th September and is programmed until the 22nd September 2011. This is the first type of large scale multi media installation art in public spaces in Samoa.

The Siamani Samoa project incorporates a four staged international exhibition program spanning 2011 –2014 with stage one opening in Samoa. Stage two opens in New Zealand at Pataka Museum of Arts and Culture, Porirua on the 12th November 2011 – 19th February 2012 and will include a new suite of paintings, sculptures plus an expanded installation media artwork which will tour as part of Stage three to Sydney, Australia mid 2012 and finally stage four will see Siamani Samoa touring to Germany timed to coincide with the 100th Anniversary of the German Samoa period.

Siamani Samoa (Siamani translates Samoan for Germany): Tuffery’s giant digital artwork will be projected onto historical German colonial and traditional buildings in and around Apia. This project is supported by Creative New Zealand (CNZ).
